M-Uno DSLR port was created by VRzichtbaar
I have recently purchased an Avalon M-uno mount and intended to use this with a DSLR camera and MGEN for guiding, dithering and camera control. Since guiding with the MGEN is not working as well as I hoped I have now switched to using PHD2 for guiding. For Camera control I can now use the DSLR port of the M-uno and this makes the MGEN obsolete. This all works well apart from the fact that now the dithering process within PHD2 is no longer synchronised with the DSLR control.

My question is the following. Can the DSLR port from the M-uno be controlled via ASCOM with which the dithering can be synchronised/controlled by PHD2?

Hi Bob
Jst a small clarification on what you asked for. Namely that PHD2 does not synchronize or control dithers. It always expects the imaging application to tell it when to dither and the parameters to use.
Apologies if you already know this but a lot of people think PHD2 initiates the dithering.
So your imaging application would need to control the DSLR through Stargo AND interface to PHD2 to tell it when to dither.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your response. I have indeed found out that in order to guide with PHD/2 additional application control is needed. On the PHD website PHD_Dither.exe is provided. In the manual is perscribed that with the use of Dither_script.vbs other applications can issue a dither control command to PD/2.
Now I need to figure out if this script can be triggered by the StarGo DSLR control panel.

to be continued........
