We inform that has been released the N.I.N.A Three Point Polar Alignment plugin that allows the automated Polar Alignment. This Plugin can be used in with the UPAS (AV-9PAK001 ) and the Motorized Polar Alignment System (AV-9PAK002).

Best regards

There are several software solutions like SharpCap and PoleMaster that assist with polar alignment. These often come with their own hardware and are quite effective. Does anyone know if these can be integrated into a custom automation script, perhaps via an API?

Hi stefano82,
that sounds very good. Unfortunately, I can't currently find any information on how I can integrate my UPAS into N.I.N.A. and what settings need to be made so that the Three Point Alignment works together with the UPAS. Unfortunately, I could not find this information in the published video.
I would be very happy to receive a little help. Thank you in advance.

Hi holger.cleve
Using the N.I.N.A. plugin with the UPAS is really easy, you just need to download the Three Point Polar Alignment plugin from within N.I.N.A, afterwards you need to enable the "Use Avalon Polar Alignment System" option and click on the "Test connect button".
We suggest to enable also the "Do automated adjustment" option to allow the system automatically calculate and correct the Azimuth Backlash.
After the connection check the Gear Ratio and Speed value, they must be set as follow:

Azimuth:
Speed = 1000, GearRatio = 2

Altitude:Speed = 700, GearRatio = 22

Attached and below you'll find two screenshot that is going to help you to properly connect and configure the plugin for the UPAS.

Best regards
