Hello,
I hope you are all doing well ...

As I posted in a different thread I started installing a remote control of my M Zero via Mini PC:
minix.com.hk/products/neo-z83-4-pro

APT connects to the Canon EOS 6D, guiding via MGEN works perfectly.
(StarGo is already connected to the MiniPC)
As soon as APT connects to the mount the camera disconnects, it "disappears". Or: APT starts an endless loop plugging / unplugging the camera

I tried EVERYTHING:
battery vs. external power adapter, different USB-ports, different cables, ferrites...., changing the port numbers... , camera without SD card....: no solution.
ASCOM tools dsiplays the 2 USB ports (numbers) that are visible / available.
Stargo: the newest beta version is installed.
ASCOM : V 6.4SP1
I checked all the drivers.

Then I tested the same configuration with a Lenovo Think Pad (only 2 physical USB ports): no problem!
APT connects to the EOS 6D, to MGEN and to the mount simultaneously, as it should do.

It seems that this disconneting issue is related to the EOS (or because many users have EOS?)
I already contacted Ivo from APT but until now there is no real workaround.
The minix support couldnt help, I asked for informations concerning the chipset.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
Peter

Hello Peter

Did you run APT, MGEN, StarGo and all the softwares involved as administrator?

Let us know about.

Best regards

Hello Stefano,
thank you for the hint, but yes, this is checked for all of them.
Meanwhile I suppose it`s the USB chipset:
The MiniX Mini PC shows only 1 USB hub in the device manager: USB Root Hub (USB 3.0):
My Notebook and my PC do have several USB hubs listed: 1 Generic USB Hub, 1 USB Root Hub and 1 USB Root Hub (USB 3.0).
It seems to me the Mini PC has only 1 physical "main" USB Hub (3.0) (?)
I´ll have to check with another Mini-PC.....

Hi Peter

You can also try to connect the StarGo and the Camera to a powered hub connected to the Mini-PC.

Maybe could be a lack power issue.

Let us know about.
