Ascom slewing speeds was created by wsuyker
Hi,
The Avalon ascom driver (version 4.46 - upgraded to 6.00_SP3) appears to have difficulty when switching slewing speeds from wihin software like Sharpcap, Ascom POTH hub, N.I.N.A. and others. The drivers works well otherwise. Slewing is possible and starts at high speed; switching to a lower speed is sometimes succesful, sometimes not. Switching back to a higher speed again doesn't seem possible. In the mean time, switching speeds from within the Avalon mount program remains flawless.

I would really like to be able to perform manually initiated slews from within the programs mentioned, like for example my previous Celestron mount. Is this a limitation of the Avalon software, or is there anaything I can do/ work around?

Software:
- Windows 10 fully updates
- Ascom 6.4 SP1
- All programs running with administrator privilege

Thanks, Willem

Hi Willem

First of all you can download and install the StarGo Software latest version: “Installer StarGO 620 SP1” from the support page
www.avalon-instruments.com/support/file/...aller-stargo-620-sp1

We know that by using direct “AvalonStarGo.NET” driver ASCOM everything works fine, we can’t garuantee complete compatibility with Ascom POTH hub.

Please try in this way and let us know about.

Thanks Stefano
Installed the 620SP1 software and configured the ascom driver as indicated. Unfortunately, the slewing speed can still not be changed from within third party software (tried SkyX, Sharpcap, NINA). It can only be changed in my computer setup from the Avalon console.

Hi Willem

The speed can only be changed by using the format LX-200.
