Greetings!

First of all, I want to say that my Avalon M-Uno is fantastic, and that guiding is flawless, night after night, despite my Bortle 7 skies in Menlo Park, CA.

Since I updated to driver 7.0x, I noticed two inconveniences:
- The Slew validation which was fixed (thank you!!!)
- The Sync after being park ===> my current problem.

If I start the sync with Carte du Ciel (you know, the connect and then sync with a southern target on the meridian) and if at any point before that the mount was parked, then the sync is reversed, and the mount goes West instead of East. Even if I unpark it before the sync, the problem remains.

I really have to start the mount unparked to make it work.

This is new. It is not a critical issue, but as I finish all my nights' session with SGP parking the mount, it means that when I start a new night, I have to:
- connect to the moun!
- unpark it
- disconnect
- turn off the mount
- turn on the mount
- Sync!

Happy to share my logs of the issues if needed.

Many thanks for your help,

Gauthier

Dear Gauthier
As explained at page 33 of the StarGo User Manual, the PARK feature allows to switch off the mount in the choosen position and restart it, even after many days, without losing the sky alignment.
This mean that after an UNPARK a new alignment is not required.

If your setup is placed on a fixed location, after the UNPARK you only need to slew to a target and start the session.

Furthermore, thanks to the special “Realign to Absolute Position” feature explained on the article linked below, you can store in memory the Error pointing offset obtained and reuse it in future sessions.

Feel free to ask for any further informations.

Thank you, this is great news.
That will save me time.
Still, it sounds like the behavior changed with the new driver version, but I now know better!

Hi
I made a similar observation. I got my M-uno a few weeks ago and started testing the last days.
And I encountered a very similar problem: The mount does not move to the GoTo target set in CdC when starting from parking position.
Here is the prcedure I used:
- Switch on the mount
- Start StarGo (it indicates mount is parked in N/S position CWD)
- Press SyncHome button (while mount is still parked)
- Select object in CdC (i.e. Eta UMa or Zeta UMa / western side of meridian)
- Start GoTo in APT or CdC (tried both)
- The mount moves to a location anywhere but not to the selected target
I used different setting of DEC and RA axis directions (setting it to reversed or normal). But everytime the mount did not move to the target.

Work around I use now (whch is not nice):
- After Sync Home I move amnually to a random area on the west side of meridian
- PlateSolve this position and Sync (with APT)
- From there I select my target and it moves like expected.

May be I missed something in the upper procedure because you said you select any star south close to meridian and perform a sync. I will test this procedure too and see whether it might solve my issue.

Hi Tom

As explained at page 33 of the StarGo User Manual, the PARK feature allows to switch off the mount in the choosen position and restart it, even after many days, without losing the sky alignment.
This mean that after an UNPARK a new alignment is not required.

In a few words, after the UNPARK you can perform any GoTo without do any Sync Home Position, since the mount already aware where is pointing.

In this way you don't need any workaround to start the session.

Obviously the PARK feature it make sense for a fixed location.
