Hello

We tried to reproduce your behaviour here at the laboratory, including the park/unpark features, following the workflow listed below:

- Software connection (via USB cable)
- Sync Home Position
- Slew to object
- Set park
- Slew to different object
- Park
- Unpark
- Slew to home position

We used the latest StarGo software/firmware/ASCOM driver as listed below (see also attachment):

- StarGo Ver. 7.0.3
- Firmware Ver. 7.0.0
- Ascom Driver V. 7.0.0.30
- Connected mount Type: Losmandy HQ
- Axis Mode: Equatorial

We use the StarGo System reliably in several remote observatories and other users does since 12 years, sometimes is only required some assistance to find the reason of the issue and we always find the solution.

In order to understand the different motor speed issue try the switch the motor cables ( RA / DEC ) to see if is a connector or a motor problem.

Furthermore we are also available to help you check your whole set up configuration with a remote desktop session and if it doesn't work in this way you can even send us here at the company the StarGo box with the kit, in this way we can perform a full software/hardware check and send you back everything checked and tested.

Please in the meanwhile let us know which PC and Operative System are you using and if you are using a HUB for the USB connection.

In case you wish to proceed with a remote session please let us know via mail your availability day and time.

Feel free to ask for any further information

Kind regards

Stefano

Hello, I am using the software (no other version was dispossable)

- StarGo Ver. 7.0.0
- Firmware Ver. 7.0.0
- Ascom Driver V. 7.0.0.29
- Connected mount Type: Losmandy HQ
- Axis Mode: Equatorial

I tried to switch cables few days ago. Cables are ok. Same issue in same DEC motor.

I can try with the new version of software and tell to you if there is any difference. I am using an Intel NUC with
Windows 10. StarGo system is connected directly through usb cable (without hub)
If any change is observed I think a remote session will be mandatory.

After installing new software:

- StarGo Ver. 7.0.3
- Firmware Ver. 7.0.0
- Ascom Driver V. 7.0.0.32
- Connected mount Type: Losmandy HQ
- Axis Mode: Equatorial

Hello

As agreed in the previous mail we are available for a remote desktop session, in this way we can see the whole setup environment, perform a deep inspection and better help you fix the issues.

Let us know via mail your day and time availability so we can arrange the session.

Kind regards

Hello

We report here the results of the tests, in order to give the solution of the behaviour noticed.

After the first session tests, we saw that the behaviour only showed up when the “Slew to home position” command were sent.

Then, after further tests and more deep inspections, we found that, with the last 7.0.0 Firmware version, with higher gear ratio and performing a Park or a Slew to Home Position functions, when the RA motor achieve the target before the DEC, this motor stucks, loosing the position.

In order to better understand where the issue came from, we made several tests with the previous installations versions till to the 6.2.0 and we found that with this version, the problem doesn't comes out, the DEC motor doesn't stuck and the Park function worked fine.
So we suggest to downgrade to the 6.2.0 version downloadable from the Avalon support area.
The last 7.0.0 Firmware version has been mainly developed for the EVO-zero where the most important feature is the possibility to let the motor powered on also after the Park.

I spoke with you before your online support. I told you I just had trying with the previous version of firmware and the problem was the same. So, any alternate solution? Thanks.
