Hello Stefano,

Thank you for your reply.

In the case of the StarGO2 it is clearly an issue with the mount control and not with EKOS.

I did tests as requested by Jasem, which prove that East and West is mixed up. I tried it with both the INDI and the ASCOM driver. Either the mix-up is in the drivers or in the FW.

Please, refer to my posts here and on the INDI forum on the same topic.

Hi Stefano!

Thanks for replying!
FYI I decided to install v6.2.0 a couple of weeks ago but the erratic behavior remains unfortunately.
Cheers

I can confirm this problem. The root cause is that the firmware does not report properly RA changes when the mount is in the home position.

Slew to a (high) position close to the meridian and do the polar alignment from there. Be careful, if you are west of the meridian, use a WEST motion (and vice versa).

Hi Wolfgang,

Thank you for this inside! Could this be valid/applicable for the StarGO2 Pro as well?

In the EKOS-PAA when using the SG2P, I usually remain on the eastern side of the meridian facing East with DEC between 0 and +10°. I then go either from East to West or from West to East in 30° (=2h RA) steps by manually changing the RA in the mount/telescope control in EKOS.

The automatic slewing does not work here. I know it is maybe not the same bug/issue as with the classical SG, but it might be related.

And then there is this issue:
indilib.org/forum/ekos/10407-polar-align....html?start=36#84507
Which also seems to be related, but is much more severe, since it requires a full reboot of the SG2P's RPi4.
